This summer may feel slightly different as we continue to follow social distancing protocols. Our regular places begin to reopen cautiously, but that does not mean giving up on summer.
Summer camps, outdoor concerts, and summer vacations that mark the summer season are being postponed or canceled in the wake of COVID-19. This summer may feel slightly different from past years as we continue to follow the social distancing protocol, and our regular places begin to reopen cautiously, but that does not mean giving up on summer.
We can still enjoy many summer activities and even find new space to reconnect with our friends and families on a deeper level. Here are a few summer activities or staycation ideas that are ideally suited for a warm summer day:
Throw a casino game night party. While board games can be fun as well, try a deck of cards and some chips so you can play blackjack or poker, it's your choice if you decide with real money or fake money such as M&Ms when playing with kids!
Perfect that summer recipe (preferably a dessert) that you have always been meaning to set time aside for! While summer favorites include blueberry or cherry pie, a summer tart is also an excellent choice.
Create an indoor obstacle course for your kids to burn off excess energy. You can set up couch cushions as barriers to jump over, or tape yarn back and forth across the hallways to create a laser maze. Even better is have your kids create the plans and build the course themselves!
